How to make “Spaghetti” in 5 minutes

I tried a little experiment yesterday [evil laugh]. Before I proceed, there are a few things you should know about me.

At my best, I’m very lazy. I’m not too fond of greasy foods, my second best friend is the microwave, and I like to keep things simple – super simple. Also, I’d like to acknowledge the fact that I have a very caring family back home. If they ever get to find out what I’m eating, specifically my grandparents, I’ll have to face the noise when I get back home like the time when I got a “different” haircut. Nonetheless, I like taking risks and spontaneity, whether I like it or not, just keeps following me around, like male dogs do to a you know what. I can’t help myself, really!

If you’re a busy, hardworking person, I’m sure you’ve came home one day not knowing what to cook (I’m also sure you have a microwave and a can opener). This happens to me all the time. Today, we’ll put an end to that. I’ll be showing you how to make spaghetti with Ramen noodles. As you might have guessed, we’ll be using a microwave, a can opener and the following:

Ingredients

  1. 2 cups water
  2. 2 pack ramen soup
  3. 1 can chicken sausage from the chiney man on the corner
  4. Spaghetti sauce (I used tomato sauce – big mistake*)
  5. 1/4 pound of cheese

*Tomato paste/sauce is not the same as spaghetti sauce. Spaghetti sauce is seasoned, tomato sauce is flavorless. That was a big boo-boo on my part.

Tip: Don’t buy ghetto tomato sauce in a can because guess what – it WILL taste like can!

Steps

1- Pour 2 cups water in a microwaveable dish, add 2 servings of ramen noodles and heat for 4 minutes.

2- While heating, chop up your chicken sausage in whatever shapes you’d like.

3- Chop up some cheese (diced preferably). Squares are better than circles and easier to get – trust me, been there, done that.

4- Once done, remove noodles from microwave, drain out hot water and set on a plate. Do not add seasoning.=

5- Pour tomato sauce on noodles.

6- Sprinkle the good stuff (sausage and cheese) on top.

7- Mix and enjoy.

Well, there you have it folks, “Spaghetti” in 5 minutes. I’m sure that anyone would agree that this is more than a just a meal. This is how I did it. You can do it your way, but am sure mine will always taste better (what a shame).

Words cannot describe. Yummy! The landlord’s coming over tomorrow; I guess I’ll save some for him.

That was too cute. Roflmao I'm pretty sure you enjoyed yourself, if not the meal. I have to give you an A+ for effort...It's not everyday you find someone willing to try things and actually eat it if it doesn't come out as they have hoped.

Personally, I would have went back to the drawing boards with the plain tomato sauce...next time (if you would give the can of plain tomato sauce another shot) try adding some salt and other flavors like Italian Seasoning...hey you might as well have added the ramen seasoning to the tomato sauce and come up with your own version of spaghetti sauce...you could call it Sasquatchi Sauce... LOL

Later little man,
Keep on being adventurous

Sasquatchi Sauce? Interesting. I guess I'll have to try that with the rest I have home.

Roy, you are right. This idea was inspired by Helwa and surely, hers must had kicked ass.

I was about to leave some eye rolling comment about how interesting single boys are, but Helwa made me think about the things I do when I am not sure what to cook.
When the circumstances are right I love to cook but when some thing is wrong (eg no groceries, no time) I hate. Its one of those great ironies of life.
I do try to avoid preservative load starches like ramen. The are linked to intestial diseases that are both fatal and painful. They are easy to cook though.

I have a confession to make. I never mentioned how/what the spaghetti tasted like.

In case you're wondering, am looking at the pictures right now and I feel like throwing up... I wouldn't eat it again even if you were pointing a gun on my head and your name was Cho and you just killed 33 people.
